International Conference on Speech and Language Technologies for Low-Resource Languages
We invite proposals from interested parties to host the upcoming SPELLL Conference, scheduled for 2026 and 2027. SPELLL is a prominent conference in the field of Speech and Language Technology, especially for low-resource languages. Previous SPELLL conferences have been successfully hosted by reputed institutions across India, consistently attracting researchers from many countries (https://spelll.org/). The event will be held at a venue that can accommodate a diverse range of attendees and activities related to the conference theme “Low Resource Languages".
Conference Description & Objectives
With the rapid growth of the internet, most global languages have smoothly transitioned into the digital era. However, nearly 10,000+ languages—especially regional and low-resource languages—remain technologically underdeveloped and face the risk of extinction.
The SPELLL conference aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and academicians from across the globe to promote the development of speech and language technologies that help preserve linguistic and cultural heritage.
- Exploring challenges in creating speech and language resources for low-resource languages
